The Steinberg Society honors those whose immense generosity and foresight help to secure the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s future.  Named for the orchestra’s beloved and longest-tenured conductor, William Steinberg, this distinguished group recognizes individuals who have included the PSO in their estate plans and informed the Development Office of their intentions.

Through bequests, charitable trusts, life insurance, retirement accounts, and other planned gifts, Steinberg members provide lasting support. Maestro Steinberg’s portrait in our Grand Lobby commemorates the Society’s Honor Roll, where member names are inscribed in gratitude for their enduring commitment. Legacy gifts may be directed to our General Operating budget to address the Orchestra’s most immediate needs, to our endowment, where principal is preserved and earnings sustain operations, or designated to specific priorities such as education programs, artistic initiatives, or musician salaries.

We encourage you to share your plans with us so we may express our sincere appreciation. Steinberg Society members are recognized, if desired, in subscription concert programs as well as the aforementioned Steinberg Wall and are invited to an exclusive annual celebration featuring performances by PSO musicians.
